Dan - I really like this project. I remember doing a similar project using paper. Allowing the students to choose their own events really makes this a meaningful project. They choose what interests them, and using the technology takes the learning to the next level, allowing for higher learning to occur. I haven't tried to use digital storytelling yet, primarily because of my own limitations with technology. I had a difficult time reading the rubric and would be very interested in seeing it in more detail. Although we won't see each other in class anymore, if you wouldn't mind, could you send me a copy? I think this could be a really cool project to complete in my classes. I was thinking of doing it in the beginning of the class, to gauge their levels of ability and their interests. Then doing the project in June to see the changes in their interests as well as their abilities. I think this is a very valuable lesson you have created.
